Starting with the 10.4 release, SimaPro desktop uses Integrated Login to securely verify your access before opening the software. This article explains what to expect and how to complete the sign-in process. For answers to common questions you might have, please visit this FAQ page.
Starting SimaPro
Start SimaPro.
The following authentication window will appear.
Your default browser will open and you will be directed to the login page.
Note:Make sure that you are connected to the internet. An internet connection is also required for daily authentication.
This workflow doesn't apply to Classroom and Faculty license holders.
Sign in with an existing account
If you already have an existing One Click LCA account or a company account (Google or Microsoft 365), you can use these credentials to sign in. If you do not, please follow the instructions in the next section: "Register your account".
If you already have a One Click LCA account, you can sign in on the login page using your work email address directly.
If your company uses Google or Microsoft 365 for user accounts, you can also sign in using those accounts. To do so, select Sign in with Google or Microsoft.
Note! Your IT administrator may need to configure your Google Workspace or Microsoft Office 365 settings to allow external authentication.
You will be redirected to your Google or Microsoft account to complete the sign-in process.
Once your account is recognized, the software will start and you can continue working in SimaPro. Your session will then be active for 24 hours, after which you will be required to authenticate again. You can simply sign in and repeat the steps in this section to authenticate.
Create a new account
If you don't have an account yet, you will need to create a new account and set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Please follow the steps in this section.
Create a new account by clicking "Register".
Fill out the registration form and then click "Register". Once you have signed up, you will be directed to set up the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) with your authenticator app.
Install the authenticator app on your phone. You can install one of the following applications: Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or FreeOTP Authenticator.
Open the authenticator app that you downloaded.
Scan the QR code you see from the registration page. Note: Please make sure that you scan the code that you see and not the code on the screenshot below, as this is merely an example.
Enter the one-time code provided by the authenticator app and enter your device name.
Click "Submit".
A notification will be sent to your email where you need to verify your email.
Check your email inbox and look for the verification email. Click on the link and confirm verification.
Once your email address has been verified, go back to SimaPro and click "Retry".
Try to sign in again using the verified email address and password. SimaPro will then ask you to authenticate your account. For this, please follow the steps in the next section: "Authenticate your account".
Authenticate your account
When you register a new account, SimaPro will trigger another verification and the following window will be shown. Your default browser will open and you will be redirected to the "Create user account" page. If you are not redirected, click "Show web browser".
On the "Create user account" page, the full name and email address fields should already be pre-filled in from the information retrieved in the first login stage. Please complete the form and fill in the remaining fields. Once you are done, click "Register".
Once you click "Register", go back to SimaPro and click "I have completed step two"
When the authentication has been completed, the software will start and you can continue or get started with your LCA projects in SimaPro. Your session will then be active for 24 hours, after which you will be required to authenticate again. You can then simply repeat the sign-in procedure.
