Once your SimaPro license expires, it would be good to know what this implies in terms of access to your software and data. This, however, depends on your license type.
Access to SimaPro Craft
If you have a subscription (temporary) license:
Software access
Once a temporary license expires, SimaPro will run into demo mode with limited functionalities. You can still open your existing projects and run calculations but you can no longer make changes to the models, create new projects, and do extensive actions like import/export CSV or SimaPro database. Once you renew the license and enter the new code via Help > Register SimaPro, the software will be revived and you can continue working in the database with your models.
Data access
Your database will remain intact and you can still access your data. Just be mindful of the limitations mentioned beforehand on the software level.
Updates eligibility
You are no longer entitled to the later software versions nor any data updates.
(Re)Installation
It is not possible to install an expired temporary license. Please contact us if you want to renew your license.
If you have a perpetual (indefinite) license:
Software access
Once the license expires, SimaPro will continue to run in its full functionality. When you start SimaPro, you will see an ''About'' window saying that your service contract has expired but it won't affect your use of the software.
Data access
Your database will remain intact and you can still access your data.
Updates eligibility:
You are no longer entitled to the latest software version and updated data should there be future updates, until you renew your service contract.
(Re)Installation
It is possible to install an expired indefinite license. However, you can only install a version that is released before your license end date. You can see this page for an overview of older software versions and their corresponding release date.
Access to SimaPro Report Maker
Report Maker is an add-on that is included in SimaPro Expert, SimaPro Power, and SimaPro PhD plans. Check this page for further information about Report Maker.
If you have a subscription (temporary) license:
You can no longer use Report Maker upon your license expiration as SimaPro will run into demo (and ''copy item descriptor'' function that is used for Report Maker will not be available in demo).
If you have a perpetual (indefinite) license:
You can continue working with Report Maker even if your service contract expires. However, unless you renew the license again, you will not be entitled to the updates of Report Maker (and of course, SimaPro).
