Release Notes | SimaPro Synergy

A Sankey diagram visualizes the distribution of environmental impacts across tiers, products and impact categories. It provides a clear view of which products contribute most to the total impact in the selected impact category and tier, supporting hotspot identification and decision-making. This is a beta feature, so let us know what you think!

After a session time-out, notification is displayed before the user is redirected to the login page.

All changes made in the ‘Processes’ form are now saved automatically. The ‘Save’ button has been removed.

The sidebar navigation panel now includes three main sections: ‘LCA models’, ‘Primary data libraries’ and ‘Secondary data libraries’. From the bottom of the sidebar, you can access ‘Settings’ (such as ‘Methods’, ‘Geographies’, ‘Units’, etc.) and ‘Contact support’.

During import, users can now view detailed upload information. Newly created or updated items are listed, including processes, products, and input/output product flows.

After selecting a file for upload, users are prompted to confirm the import. At this stage, they can review, change, or replace the selected Excel file before submitting.

When editing processes in Model Builder, input and output product flows can now be sorted alphabetically.

As an Organizational admin, you can now change the ownership of any model, even if it has no owner or the owner is another user.

Custom tags were previously shown in the ‘Generic tags’ section. Now it is fixed, the custom tags will be shown in the ‘Custom tags’ section.

We have introduced a new way to import data into SimaPro Synergy using an Excel template. This feature will enable users to import structured data, such as bills of materials (e.g., from ERP or CRM systems). Please note: The new import flow has limited functionality at this time. The input fields have been reordered to improve usability. After specifying the top process, users will continue by filling the 'Amount', 'Unit' and 'Product' fields.

Impact assessment methods can now be sorted alphabetically and by update date (oldest first or newest first).

Processes can now be filtered by a combination of tags, instead of just one tag.

External parts such as commodities and parts are now included in various LCA results: Product Inventory, Process Contributions, and Cumulative Results.

A new Master Data API endpoint, "Get all parameters available in the model", has been added to the SimaPro Developer Portal to fetch all parameters and their details from a model in a single request.

The API calculation engine for the Configurable Model Calculator (CMC) and the External Model Calculator (EMC) has been overhauled to ensure consistent and reliable results.

The ecoinvent processes in the Secondary data library documentation now include a link to their ecoQuery.

Model Builder now shows ecoQuery links for ecoinvent processes used in models and primary data libraries.

The Model Builder and the Process form now support searching producing processes by geography tag.

A ‘Go to producing process’ button has been added. Enabling users to directly navigate from an input in a process to its producing process.

The ‘Library switch’ feature has been redesigned to enhance usability.

New domain restriction introduces more access control options in SimaPro Synergy. Upon request, the organization administrator can now restrict user access and account creation to specific email domains (e.g., ‘lcaexpert@yourcompany.com’).

For organizations with SSO enabled, the organization administrator can manage SSO settings for users at the organizational level. The organization administrator can enable or disable SSO for users as needed.

The new login flow guides you through based on your login settings. If SSO is not enabled, users are required to enter their email address and password. If SSO is enabled, users will be redirected to the third-party authentication provider.

Fetch your Organization ID at the model/primary data library dashboard.

Improvements to the SSO implementation were made, including enhancements to access management and user settings.

The endpoints are available for both CMC (Configurable Model Calculator) and EMC (External Model Calculator) API products.

You can open any of the processes on the ‘Library processes used’ page by clicking on it. The selected process will open in a new tab.

We have resolved an issue to ensure tags are copied correctly when duplicating a process with tags.

Calculation results now include process contribution per tier, with a tier indication per process.

All the settings in the model calculation setup will be applied to the CMC calculation and be reflected in calculation results.

If analysis groups were added to the calculation setup of a model, then calculation results for these analysis groups will also be returned.

Trial endpoints are updated according to the latest product changes.

The basic CMC product will no longer be available for users. Please note! Users of the Basic CMC will be contacted separately by our team about this change.

The functionality of the Basic CMC is integrated into CMC API product functionality. We will be moving forward with CMC (Configurable Model Calculator) and EMC (External Model Calculator) API products.

In order to switch to the latest endpoint version, it is required to change the header and the json request, according to the endpoint structure.

You can now retrieve the details, related to general data (units, quantities, geographies), organization items (primary data libraries, models), model items (parameters, configurable processes) and organization description, available to the user (organization name, ID).

Use a toggle to set a parameter as configurable/non-configurable.

New mapping options have been introduced when importing SimaPro .csv files.

Detailed analysis is possible again when using ecoinvent 3.9.1 Cut-off data library.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) functionality is introduced. Now you can enable MFA as a SimaPro Synergy user or require all users to enable MFA, if you are an Organization administrator. Check the MFA user guide for more information!

Please note! MFA is currently not compatible with SimaPro Synergy users utilizing the API functionality (API endpoints). To avoid any disruptions, please do not enable MFA within your account or organization at this time. We are working on a solution for this user group and will provide an update as soon as possible.

When user deletes a process, improved notifications are shown.

Notifications with improved messaging are sent out, e.g. when users reset a password, enable/disable MFA.

A new version of the page is introduced, featuring improved performance. Page design is updated to enhance usability.

Performance and scalability are improved. When loading large models, loading time is optimized. When making changes on the page, response time is faster now.

Usability of the page is improved. Collapse and Expand buttons are now larger. The system remembers the number of expanded/collapsed nodes. You can see additional user messages when editing various fields.

Now you can delete a process, when selecting a process on the canvas and clicking on a three-dot button in a side panel.

A constraint is added for a Library switch function. Now it is only possible to switch between ecoinvent data libraries.

The fix is applied: now you can successfully import projects, containing processes from generic libraries (such as ecoinvent data libraries). Importing a project with parameters is successful, the values of the parameters are saved.
