This release integrates over 4800 datasets with regionalized data from over 63 countries. The data is also aligned with global standards like ISO14040/44 and PEF. The background data has been updated (from FAO, and the use of ecoinvent 3.10 instead of 3.8).

AGRIBALYSE 3.2 is the French LCI database for the agriculture and food sector. Provided by ADEME, this updated version comprises over 2500 agricultural and food products produced and/or consumed in France, combining a production-based approach and a consumption-based approach. Feel free to check their page for further information on the database.

Defined pi (π) as a fixed parameter in SimaPro hence SimaPro will automatically recognize it without requiring manual definition. As such, when you open the database first time in SimaPro, SimaPro will detect this and automatically remove these constant parameters to avoid confusion. Your expressions and calculations will remain correct.

Improvements have been made regarding the following functions:

Bug fix for multiusers - ‘Selected location is in use’ will no longer appear after a user has opened a database via local server first.

Bug fix when adding analysis groups from the network

Users have to accept updated ecoinvent EULA in the SimaPro installer. More information on the impact of the updated EULA to SimaPro users can be found here.

Main data library update: ecoinvent 3.8 . The latest ecoinvent version contains around 360 new and 700 updated datasets related to agriculture, batteries, chemicals and plastics, electronics, and more.

New and updated waste scenarios: We added new municipal waste scenarios to all ecoinvent libraries. Waste scenarios are used by product stages in SimaPro. They use the waste treatment processes of ecoinvent but are not created by ecoinvent.

New method | Freshwater eutrophication (Payen et al., 2021) – a spatially differentiated impact assessment method to quantify impacts on freshwater eutrophication.

New method | LC-IMPACT – a global life cycle impact assessment methodology at endpoint (damage) level.

New method | IPCC 2021 – the successor of the IPCC 2013 method; based on the final government distribution version of the IPCC report "AR6 Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis". The IPCC 2021 method provides different types of characterization factors, which results in six methods that quantify global warming potential (GWP) and two methods that quantify global temperature potential (GTP).
