How do I export a project from SimaPro desktop for use in SimaPro cloud?

If you have a project in SimaPro desktop which you want to use in SimaPro cloud you need to export the project from SimaPro desktop as csv. file.

This export comprises processes. If you have product stages you need to export from the product stages page as well. If you only have or only want to export processes, please follow the steps below:

  1. From the process list, select any process and go to File> Export to platform.

  2. That will show the export settings shown below:

  3. Select the option that matches your export preference: 'Current (Processes)', 'Selection (Processes)', or 'All from this project'.

  4. Click 'OK'.

  5. Enter the file name and select where you want to save the file and click 'Save'.

Things to keep in mind

  • Import file size should be under 150 MB

  • Model should contain less than 750 processes

  • Remember to deselect the related objects if you have a large project.

  • This export setting will not include libraries, but when you upload your model it will be automatically link to ecoinvent if we can find a match.

  • At the moment, product stages related to disassembly, disposal scenarios and reuse are not supported on the online platform. They will be imported but will not be correctly linked in your model, and will require manual rework.
